My waiting game
I flew back home for my aunt’s wedding, what a mission.
My brother and I arrived to checking at 13:15, just on time for our 13:45 flight back home, hung over after an awesome night out for both of us. Here we were told that the flight had closed and we’d have to speak to ticket sales to make a plan. There we found out that our flight as well as the one later in the day had been over booked, and we wouldn’t be able to get a flight until mid-day the next day. Obviously this wasn’t much of an option because it would mean us missing the wedding, the whole reason for our visit.
Loads of drama later we buy tickets from another airline for their 19:10 flight. Skip forward a little, we checked in nice and early to find out our flight had been delayed. Eventually we boarded at 00:45, just under 12 hours spent in an airport whilst hung over is just not fun at all.
12 hours for a 2 hour flight. I spent another 5 hours on Sunday afternoon waiting for my flight home. 17 hours of waiting for 4 hours of flying, I’m glad I made the most of the time. In the end I had a great time.
I got my first real go at a little “street photog.” I really enjoy street photog but I find it hard to do myself. You feel like you’re really invading other people’s lives, though that’s kind of the point. I’m getting there, it was fun.
